A piece of personal advice: watch how you place your speakers in the room where they are to stand.
The room works like an acoustic chamber often creating ill-suited surroundings which are the cause of unpleasant sound distroitions, colourations.
Below are some tips on safe loudspeaker placement.
Loudspeakers should stand (see diagram):
- no less than 2.5 m from the listener*
- no less than 2.5* and no more than 5 m from each other
- no less than 40 cm* from the back wall
- no less than 80 cm* from the side walls
- stand-mounted and free-standing loudspeakers should be positioned so that the point between tweeter and woofer is level with the listener's ear.
